According to the National Weather Service, Tropical Storm Barry has formed over the Gulf of Mexico. Barry is not expected to threaten Greater Houston as a hurricane at this time. However, hurricane and tropical storm warnings have been issued north of Houston and into Louisiana and heavy rainfall is possible in our area.

The Harris County Municipal Utility District 278 Board of Directors advises District residents to be prepared for possible severe weather over the weekend if the storm system shifts direction or outlying storms affect the region.

HCMUD 278 residents are encouraged to ensure that their vehicles are fully fueled and that they have emergency kits prepared in their homes in case Barry changes direction and moves toward Greater Houston.
