The Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 278 Board of Directors understands resident concerns regarding what types of businesses or developments are constructed within the District. Residents want their community to be an inviting space for their families and guests.

Sometimes, developments may come into the District that do not reflect the desires of some residents. Examples may be large businesses that are not family-oriented or a building that may not have the appearance residents would prefer.

Unfortunately, the District does not have the authority to control the types of businesses or developments that are built in or near the District. Legally, the District must provide water and wastewater services to all businesses or developments within District’s boundaries if capacity is available. The District only has the authority to require that the plumbing connections to District facilities meet established standards.

District residents who want to provide feedback regarding new developments or businesses in the area may reach out to the following Harris County offices to voice their opinions:

Residents may also voice their concerns to the Harris County Commissioners Court by attending the Court’s public meetings. The Court’s meeting calendar and related agendas may be found here.
